Description of the BYD Qin Pro EV electric car
The BYD Qin Pro EV has been available for purchase since 2018. The model is an update of the very popular BYD Qin. The latter was the best-selling plug-in (both pure and hybrid) electric vehicle in China in 2014 and the seventh best-selling worldwide.
Bi Wai Di Chin (the Chinese themselves pronounce it that way) is named after the Chinese Qin dynasty. The Qin Pro EV debuted at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show. This is the first BYD sedan designed by the corporation’s new chief designer, Wolfgang Egger, who later designed the BYD Han. And in general, it turned out to be a kind of “Khan on manimals.”
The series also includes a hybrid car (DM instead of EV in the labeling).
Specifications of BYD Qin Pro EV
The BYD Qin Pro EV has dimensions (L×W×H): 4765×1837×1515 mm, which is very close to the dimensions of the familiar petrol Volkswagen Passat B8. The suspension is standard: MacPherson type at the front and independent multi-link at the rear.
From the first version of Qin, the Pro version, in addition to the internal filling, is also seriously different in appearance. Now the model has a more streamlined body and a Dragon Face characteristic of the brand.
The filling depends on the configuration, of which there are already 6. In order not to get confused, I will separate 3 main ones:
Standard version. It has only a 100 kW engine and a 53.1 kWh battery, which will give a maximum of 401 km of NEDC range. Basic driver assistance is available, such as ESP, ABS, EBD, TCS, etc. There is Autohold, a tire pressure sensor, front passenger airbags, rear parking sensors, and a heated rear window. The display in this version is 10.1″, of course rotating. Keyless entry and remote entry also start with the simplest version.
The High Power version is equipped with a 120 kW engine and a 56.4 kWh battery, which gives a slightly larger range of 420 km. A wide range of options are available to make driving easier: lane control, sign detection, collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic headlights, etc. The display in this version is already 12.8″, which also displays information from 360° cameras and a video recorder. The interior becomes more comfortable with ambient lighting and a premium Dirac audio system. Folding and heated side mirrors and ventilated and heated front seats are added.
The version with high power, range and comfort is equipped with a 135 kW engine and a 69.5 kWh battery, which already gives a decent 520 km of range. Compared to the previous configuration, some energy-consuming options are added: wireless phone charging, 220 V socket, heated rear seats.
